The reciter: And Khalaf ibn Hisham, and Abu al-Rabi' al-Zahrani, both narrated to us from Hammad. Khalaf said: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us from Hisham ibn 'Urwah from his father, who said:
The statement of Ibn 'Umar was mentioned to 'A'ishah: "The deceased is punished by the weeping of his family over him." She said: May Allah have mercy on Abu 'Abd al-Rahman; he heard something but did not preserve it. Rather, the funeral of a Jew passed by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while they were weeping over him, and he said: "You are weeping, while he is being punished."
