The reciter: And Amr al-Naqid narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Hisham ibn Hassan informed us, from Hafsah bint Sirin, from Umm Atiyyah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us while we were washing one of his daughters, and he said: Wash her an odd number, five, or more than that, in the manner of the hadith of Ayyub and 'Asim, and in the hadith it was said: She said: So we braided her hair into three parts, the two sides and the forelock. أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ نَغْسِلُ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِهِ، فَقَالَ: اغْسِلْنَهَا وِتْرًا خَمْسًا، أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكِ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ أَيُّوبَ وَعَاصِمٍ، وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ: قَالَتْ: فَضَفَرْنَا شَعْرَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَثْلَاثٍ، قَرْنَيْهَا وَنَاصِيَتَهَا
