Also, he says in the third part of the question: Is it permissible to travel to visit the righteous dead?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Also, he says in the third part of the question: Is it permissible to travel to visit any of the righteous and the dead, or the righteous dead?

The Shaykh : That is not permissible; that is, it is not permissible for a person to travel to visit any grave, whoever the owner of that grave is, because visiting graves is an act of worship, as mentioned previously.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : If it is an act of worship, then it is not permissible for a person to travel to a place dedicated to that act of worship, except for the three mosques about which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
One should not undertake journeys except to three mosques: al-Masque al-Haram (in Makkah ), the Aqsa mosque, or this mosque (in Madinah). لا تشد الرحال إلا إلى ثلاثة مساجد: المسجد الحرام، ومسجدي هذا، والمسجد الأقصى
Bulugh al-Maram 5:58
And it is not permissible for a person to travel to any place other than these for the sake of worshipping Allah and drawing near to Him. And visiting graves, as we have mentioned, is an act of worship, so it is not permissible for a person to travel to a grave, because it is an act of worship specific to that place, and this is prohibited in any place other than the three mosques.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
