The questioner : There is a farm between us and the mosque, and we go to the mosque through the middle of it. We did not ask the people for permission because they are numerous and scattered, and we have asked some of them. Is there any sin on us if we walk through it to the mosque, knowing that the road to the mosque is very far, and some of us are elderly and cannot go because of the distance and the traffic of cars? May Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : There is no harm on you in passing through this farm, provided two conditions are met: that no harm comes to the trees and crops you pass by, and that no annoyance is caused to the people of the farm. If it causes them annoyance by your passing by them, or if it causes harm to the trees and crops, then it is not permissible for you.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : So, one must avoid both moral and physical harm in this passage.

The Shaykh : Yes, yes indeed.
