Explanation: (And 'Ali came from Yemen with the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificial camels, and he found Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) among those who had exited the state of consecration, wearing dyed clothes and having applied kohl, so he disapproved of that for her)

The reciter:
'All came from the Yemen with the sacrificial animals for the Prophet (May peace be upon him) and found Fatimah (Allah be pleased with her) to be one among those who had put off Ihram and had put on dyed clothes and had applied antimony. He (Hadrat'Ali) showed disapproval to it, whereupon she said: My father has commanded me to do this. He (the narrator) said that 'Ali used to say in Iraq: I went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) showing annoyance at Fatimah for what she had done, and asked the (verdict) of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) regarding what she had narrated from him, and told him that I was angry with her, whereupon he said: She has told the truth, she has told the truth. (The Prophet then asked 'Ali): What did you say when you undertook to go for Hajj? I ('Ali) said: 0 Allah, I am putting on Ihram for the same purpose as Thy Messenger has put it on. He said: I have with me sacrificial animals, so do not put off the Ihram. He (Jabir) said: The total number of those sacrificial animals brought by 'Ali from the Yemen and of those brought by the Apostle (ﷺ) was one hundred. Then all the people except the Apostle (ﷺ) and those who had with them sacrificial animals, put off Ihram, and got their hair clipped

The Shaykh : This is an explanation of the Prophet's (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) sacrificial animals. 'Ali came from Yemen because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent him to Yemen to call people to Allah, to collect the zakah from them, and for other matters.
So he came with the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificial camels, meaning: with some of them, because some of them were brought by 'Ali, and some were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as will come at the end of the discussion. But he found his wife Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) had exited the state of consecration, applied kohl, and worn dyed clothes, meaning: a dyed garment, and she appeared to be preparing for her husband (may Allah be pleased with him). So he disapproved of that for her, because they did not know about 'Umrah in the months of Hajj. He disapproved of it for her, so she informed him that her father (peace and blessings be upon him) had ordered her to do this. She said: "My father ordered me to do this." So 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inciting [him] and seeking a ruling. Inciting against Fatimah, and incitement originally means stirring up and provoking, as one stirs up between animals, and as one stirs up between people. For this reason, it is said: "So-and-so incited so-and-so against so-and-so," meaning: he stirred up another person against him and provoked him.
And seeking a ruling regarding that. His going to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was for two purposes: the first purpose was inciting against Fatimah, why did she exit the state of consecration?! And the second was seeking a ruling: is her action valid or not valid?
He says: So I informed him that I had disapproved of that. He said: "You spoke the truth, you spoke the truth," meaning: that I had ordered her to do this. He repeated that for emphasis, because the occasion required it. "You spoke the truth" meaning: in what she said, that I had ordered her to do it. "You spoke the truth." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only ordered her, as he ordered others, because she had not brought sacrificial animals, so she exited the state of consecration.
Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) what he had said when he declared his intention for Hajj? He said: I said: "O Allah, I have entered the state of consecration with what Your Messenger has entered with." He said: "If I have sacrificial animals with me, do not exit the state of consecration."
In this is evidence for a specific issue regarding 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and for a general issue for Muslims. As for the specific one regarding 'Ali, it is his intelligence (may Allah be pleased with him), his acumen, and his eagerness to follow the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), where he entered the state of consecration with what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) had entered with. And as for the general one, it is the permissibility of such a thing, meaning: it is permissible for a person to say: "I have entered the state of consecration with what so-and-so has entered with," from among those in whose knowledge and religion he trusts, even though it will be unknown to him until he reaches so-and-so. If he says: "I have entered the state of consecration with what so-and-so has entered with," and so-and-so was performing Qiran, does this person, if he does not have sacrificial animals with him, have the right to exit the state of consecration with 'Umrah? The answer is: Yes, because if he had entered the state of consecration with it from the beginning, we would order him to exit the state of consecration with 'Umrah, so how much more so if he is following another person! But 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) included him in his sacrificial animals and gave him a share. For this reason he said: "If I have sacrificial animals with me, do not exit the state of consecration."
The apparent meaning of this phrase is that whoever enters the state of consecration with what so-and-so entered with, and so-and-so had brought sacrificial animals and he has not exited the state of consecration, then the second person does not exit the state of consecration. But this is restricted to the case where the second person has brought sacrificial animals, or is a partner with him in them, as will come in the context of the hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) included 'Ali in his sacrificial animals.
He said: So the total number of sacrificial animals that the Prophet brought, the total meaning: the sum of what 'Ali brought from Yemen and what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought was one hundred. It will come, if Allah wills, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slaughtered sixty-three and gave to 'Ali, so he slaughtered what remained.
And his saying
One hundred مائة
with an alif in my copy and with an alif in your copy, but this alif is not pronounced, and the one who pronounces it is considered to have a grammatical error. It is said:
One hundred مئة
just as it is said:
A group فئة
And as for what we hear from some people who do not understand, they say
One hundred مائة
this is not correct, and how can he say
One hundred مائة
and the hamza is kasrah before it?! Is this correct?! Strange.
And his saying:
One hundred مائة
in it is evidence of the generosity of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), for he offered one hundred camels as a gift for seven hundred sheep. Many people today stumble at offering a single sheep, to the extent that he chooses the lesser form of worship over the better one to avoid the sacrificial animals. He goes and enters the state of consecration with Ifrad because there are no sacrificial animals in it, and he does not perform Tamattu'.
For this reason, some people ask you and say to you: Should I enter the state of consecration as a Mutamatti' or as a Mufrid? Which one has no sacrificial animals? He does not say which one is better? He says: Which one has no sacrificial animals? It is said: The matter is made easy, and praise be to Allah. Do the best, perform Tamattu'. Then if the sacrificial animals become easy to obtain, that is what is required. And if they do not become easy to obtain, fast three days in Hajj and seven when you return. Yes.
