Explanation of the Book of Hajj-04a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Khallal al-Hadhli narrated to us, Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Salim ibn Hayyan narrated to us, saying: I heard Marwan al-Asfar from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from Yemen. He asked him, “With what did you enter the state of ihram?” He said, “With what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the state of ihram.” He said, “If I did not have the sacrificial animals with me, I would have exited the state of ihram.” قدم علي رضي الله عنه على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من اليمن فقال بما أهللت قال بما أهل به النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال لولا أن معي الهدي لأحللت
. And Muhammad ibn Bakr added from Ibn Jurayj:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to `Ali, "With what intention have you assumed the Ihram, O `Ali?" He replied, "With the same (intention) as that of the Prophet." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Have a Hadi and keep your Ihram as it is." قال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بما أهللت يا علي قال بما أهل به النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال فأهد وامكث حراماً كما أنت
Sahih al-Bukhari 1558

The Shaykh : He said: “Then offer the sacrifice”
