The reciter: And Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Adam informed us, saying: Sufyān narrated to us, from Ja‘far ibn Muḥammad, from his father, from Jābir ibn ‘Abd Allāh (may Allah be pleased with them both): Mishkat al-Masabih 2566.
The Shaykh : This is explicit in that a person should touch the Black Stone while facing it, then turn to his right. However, if one is unable to touch it and wishes to point at it, should he stop and face the Black Stone, or point while walking?
The apparent ruling is the former, especially since it is supported by what is narrated from ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:. There is no doubt that this hadith is weak, but it may be strengthened by what is evident in the hadith of Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him).
