The reciter: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, and Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us. And Ibn Numayr narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, and Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar:
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when he performed the first circumambulation of the House, would walk briskly for three circuits and walk normally for four, and he would walk in the lower part of the valley when he performed the sa'y between al-Safa and al-Marwah.
أنّ رسول الله صلّى الله عليه وسلّم كان إذا طاف بالبيت الطّواف الأوّل ، خبّ ثلاثًا ومشى أربعًا ، وكان يسعى ببطن المسيل إذا طاف بين الصّفا والمروة
And Ibn 'Umar used to do that.
