The Book of Marriage, Breastfeeding, Divorce, Mutual Oath-Swearing, and Manumission-01a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Numayr al-Hamdani narrated to us, saying: My father, Waki', and Ibn Bashir narrated to us from Isma'il from Qays, who said: I heard 'Abd Allah say: كنا نغزو مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليس لنا نساء فقلنا ألا نستخصي؟ فنهانا عن ذلك ثم رخص لنا أن ننكح المرأة بالثوب إلى أجل ثم قرأ عبد الله: يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تحرموا طيبات ما أحل الله لكم ولا تعتدوا إن الله لا يحب المعتدين We used to go on military expeditions with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and we had no wives. So we said: Should we not castrate ourselves? He forbade us from doing that, then he granted us a dispensation to marry a woman with a garment for a specified period. Then 'Abd Allah recited: "O you who believe! Do not forbid the good things which Allah has made lawful to you, and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like those who transgress.".

The Shaykh : This is something that Allah has made lawful. Temporary marriage (mut'ah) was lawful at first, then the permission was abrogated and the prohibition remained until the Day of Resurrection. Yes.
