The Book of Marriage, Breastfeeding, Divorce, Mutual Oath-Swearing, and Manumission-01b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Layth narrated to us from al-Rabi' ibn Subayrah al-Juhani from his father Subayrah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted us temporary marriage (mut'ah). So I and a man went to a woman from Banu 'Amir who was like a young, plump virgin. We offered ourselves to her, and she said: "What will you give?" I said: "My cloak." And my companion said: "My cloak." My companion's cloak was better than mine, and I was younger than him. When she looked at my companion's cloak, it pleased her, and when she looked at me, I pleased her. Then she said: "You and your cloak are sufficient for me." So I stayed with her for three days. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has any of these women with whom he has performed temporary marriage, let him release her."
