Answering an issue that arose in the previous hadith: (So they said, “May Allah expel the Jewish woman”)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is the hadith mentioned in the hadith of Safiyyah, but there is an issue in the hadith of Safiyyah. It states that the women looked on and said, “May Allah expel the Jewish woman.” This is a serious statement. Their intention was not that she is currently on the religion of the Jews, but rather that she is of Jewish descent. There is no harm in calling a person who is of Jewish lineage a Jew based on his origin. However, she (may Allah be pleased with her) is the daughter of a Prophet, for her father was Harun ibn Imran. But they intended the lineage, not the religion. It is not possible that they intended the religion, as she was under the protection of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
