Benefits of the Hadith: (… and she said: I was with Rifa'ah, so he divorced me, and I remained in my state of divorce, then I married 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Zubayr, and what he had was like the tassel of a garment, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled)

The Shaykh : In this hadith, there are benefits, among which is: if a woman is divorced three times, she does not become lawful to her first husband until the second husband has intercourse with her, a complete intercourse that results in tasting the sweet fluid. It is necessary that the marriage be valid, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
until she marries another husband حتى تنكح زوجا
. And one cannot be a husband except through a valid contract. We say this because if the second husband married her through a marriage of shigar, would she become lawful to the first? No, because a marriage of shigar is forbidden. If he married her before her waiting period ended, she would not become lawful to the first. Why? Because the contract is not valid. If he married her while she was in a state of prohibition, she would not become lawful to the first, because the contract is not valid. If he married her with the intention of making her lawful for the first, she would not become lawful to the first, because the marriage is not valid. This condition is derived from the saying of Allah the Exalted:
until she marries another husband حتى تنكح زوجا
If we said it meant the contract, there would be a repetition with his saying "another husband." However, in other places, "marriage" in the Noble Qur'an means the contract. Among the benefits of this hadith is that there is no harm in a woman speaking about what is a source of shame in order to clarify the reality. This woman spoke about what is a source of shame, without a doubt, but to clarify the reality. Just as Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah, is there an obligation on a woman to perform the full ritual bath if she has a wet dream?" This is speech that is a source of shame. He said:
Umm Salamah narrated: Umm Sulaim bint Milhan came to the Prophet and she said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Indeed Allah is not embarrassed of the truth. So is it required of a woman - meaning Ghusl - when she sees in her sleep similar to what a man sees?' He replied: 'Yes. When she finds water (wetness), then she is perform Ghusl.'" Umm Salamah said: "I said to her: 'O Umm SuIaim! You have disgraced the women!'" نعم إذا هي رأت الماء
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 122Sahih (Darussalam)
. Among the benefits of this hadith is the good character of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the breadth of his chest, and that he places every person in their proper position. This is shown by the fact that he did not rebuke this woman or reprimand her, but rather he smiled (peace and blessings be upon him). Among the benefits of this hadith is that intercourse is necessary in the marriage that results in making her lawful, based on his saying:
No (you cannot remarry your first husband) till you taste the second husband and he tastes you (i.e. till he consummates his marriage with you). لا، حتى تذوقي عسيلته ويذوق عسيلتك
Sahih al-Bukhari 5317
. Do we say that among the benefits of this hadith is establishing the origin of the honeymoon? Yes?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Why? Because the honeymoon, in their case, is a honeymoon even if he does not have intercourse with her. And I think this title is apparently a modern invention, because we did not hear of it in the beginning. Among the benefits of this hadith is that it is not permissible for a person to enter the house of another until permission is given, even if someone is in the gathering. Do not enter until permission is given to you. Likewise, if someone is in a room, in an apartment, do not enter upon him as long as he has closed the door, except after seeking permission. Yes.
