A Precious Benefit from the Hadith: (…and they took captives for them) in clarifying that taking captives is only permissible in fighting in the cause of Allah, not for the sake of liberating the homeland

The Shaykh : Among the benefits of this hadith is the establishment of the right of ownership through taking captives, and that the women of disbelievers become permissible if they fall into the hands of Muslims through fighting, but only fighting where the word of Allah is supreme. As for fighting to liberate the homeland, women do not become permissible through it, because merely liberating the homeland is not in the cause of Allah, unless a person intends to liberate the homeland from disbelief so that it becomes a land of Islam; in that case, it is undoubtedly in the cause of Allah.
