The Shaykh : This also indicates that part of Islam, indeed part of the best of Islam, is that the Muslims are safe from a person's tongue and hand. From his tongue: such as backbiting, talebearing, cursing, and insulting, among other things. And from his hand: by striking, taking money, or encroaching on his home by throwing stones or otherwise. The important point is that the best of the Muslims for the Muslims is, in an absolute sense, the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe. This encourages a person to strive to keep the Muslims safe from his tongue and hand. And if the matter is between speaking or remaining silent, the best is to remain silent; if it is between acting or refraining, the best is to refrain, and so on.
