The reciter: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna and Ibn Bashshar narrated to us, both saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, and Shu'bah narrated, saying: I heard Qatadah narrating from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There are three qualities for which any one who is characterised by them will relish the savour of faith: that he loves man and he does not love him but for Allah's sake alone; he is to whom Allah and His Messenger are dearer than all else; he who prefers to be thrown into fire than to return to unbelief after Allah has rescued him out of it.
ثلاثٌ من كنّ فيه وجد طعم الإيمان : من كان يحبّ المرء لا يحبّه إلّا للّه ، ومن كان الله ورسوله أحبّ إليه ممّا سواهما ، ومن كان أن يلقى في النّار أحبّ إليه من أن يرجع في الكفر بعد أن أنقذه الله منه
