The reciter: Abu al-Rabi' al-Zuhri narrated to us, Hammad informed us, Ayub narrated to us, Muhammad narrated to us from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 52a.
The Shaykh : Yes, but this does not mean that this description applies to the people of Yemen until the Day of Resurrection. Rather, this is a general statement, just as we say, for example: "The best of people are the generation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then those who follow them." Does this mean that every individual among those who follow them is better than every individual among the generation of the Tabi'in? No. For this reason, there are found among the people of Yemen those who have hardness of heart, arrogance regarding good, and pride over the truth and over creation. But this is a general statement.
