The Book of Faith-08a

The reciter: Muhammad ibn Bakkar ibn al-Riyan and 'Uwan ibn Salam narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Talhah narrated to us. And Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us. And Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us. All of them narrated from Zayd, from Abu Wa'il, from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Zayd said: So I said to Abu Wa'il: Did you hear 'Abdullah narrating this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: Yes. And the statement of Zayd to Abu Wa'il is not in the narration of Shu'bah.
