The reciter: And 'Ubayd Allah ibn Ma'adh al-'Anbari narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us. And Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us. Both of them said: Shu'bah narrated to us from Khubayb ibn 'Abd al-Rahman from Hafs ibn 'Asim from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

It is enough for a man to prove himself a liar when he goes on narrating whatever he hears.

كفى بالمرء كذبًا أن يحدّث بكلّ ما سمع
