What is the ruling on one who says, after mentioning 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In some countries, when 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is mentioned, they say "upon him peace and blessings."

The Shaykh : Many people say:
(peace be upon him)عليه السلام
This is what we see frequently, and it appears, and Allah knows best, that these books of the people of the Sunnah were copied in Khurasan and in the eastern regions, and people would insert this phrase, so it became established in the copies. This is the apparent case; otherwise, there is no doubt that our supplication for him with
(may Allah be pleased with him)رضي الله عنه
is more eloquent than saying
(peace be upon him)عليه السلام
.
