Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A man said to his companion, "If the farm you own yields more this year than last, I have a sacrificial animal for you," and this actually happened. However, another man said to them, "This statement is forbidden and unjust." What is the correct ruling in this matter? May you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : This depends on the intention of the one making the commitment. If his purpose in slaughtering the animal is to express joy and happiness that the farm's yield has increased, there is no harm in it. However, if his purpose is to challenge them, claiming that the yield and harvest cannot possibly be greater, then this has no basis and he will not fulfill it. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. From the questions of this questioner, he says: "O honorable Shaykh."
