Explanation of the author's statement: ". . . . Partial denial of attributes, such as the denial of the Asha'irah who deny some attributes while accepting others"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And partial denial, like the denial of the Asha'irah who deny some attributes while accepting others". The Asha'irah deny some, indeed most, of the attributes and accept some. Those they accept are only seven attributes, namely: life, knowledge, power, hearing, sight, will, and life. Yes.
"Living, Knowing, Able, and Speech is His" What is the last line of the verse? "Will, and likewise Hearing and Sight"
"Living, Knowing, Able, and Speech is His" These are four. "Will, and likewise Hearing and Sight" These are seven attributes. They accept these, and they deny the rest. They do not accept Might, nor Wisdom, nor Strength. They accept only these seven attributes and deny the rest, denying their existence. Yet their acceptance of these attributes is not like the acceptance of the people of the Sunnah and the community. I will give you an example: regarding Speech, Speech for the people of the Sunnah and the community is the Speech of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in terms of letters and sound. It is the Speech of Allah in letters and sound. He spoke with these letters that are in the Book of Allah. They say, "No, Speech is the meaning that subsists in the Self, and the letters are created sounds expressing what is in the Self of Allah." Do you understand now? They say the Speech of Allah is not with these letters that we read, nor with the sound that Jibreel heard, nor with the sound that Musa (peace be upon him) heard, nor with the sound that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) heard on the Night of Ascension. Speech is a meaning that subsists in the Self. As for the sound that Musa heard, and Muhammad heard, and Jibreel hears, it is a created thing that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) created in the air or in the tree that is in... Yes, what does it say?
from the tree, "O Moses من الشجرة أن يا موسى
[Al-Qasas 28:30]
As for it being the sound with which Allah spoke, that is not the case.
The people of the Sunnah and the community say, "No, the Speech of Allah is with sound and letters, as established in the authentic hadith
Then a loud Voice will be heard (Saying) 'Allah Commands you فينادي بصوت إن الله يأمركم
Sahih al-Bukhari 7483
and the Messenger clarified that it is with sound. Also, Allah the Exalted said
And We called him from the side of the mount at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him]. وناديناه من جانب الطور الأيمن وقربناه نجيا
[Maryam 19:52]
and the call is the invocation with a loud voice. The truth of the matter is that the Asha'irah in the issue of Speech are like the Mu'tazilah, or rather worse than the Mu'tazilah in some respects. The Mu'tazilah say that the Speech, which is the mushaf, is truly the Speech of Allah, but it is created. They say Allah creates sounds and letters and calls them His Speech by way of honor and exaltation, not as one of His attributes. And those [the Asha'irah] say that Allah the Exalted, this Quran in the mushaf, is not the Speech of Allah, but rather an expression of the Speech of Allah, an expression of the Speech of Allah. And the Speech of Allah the Exalted is the meaning that subsists in the Self. So those, I mean the Mu'tazilah and the Jahmiyyah, say that what is in the mushaf is the Speech of Allah, but it is created. And these say that it is not the Speech of Allah, and it is created, whereas the Speech of Allah, which is His attribute, is what is in His Self of meanings. The truth of the matter is that they have not established His Speech, because what is in the Self is never called Speech. If you now wanted to deliver a sermon and you composed the speech in your mind and arranged it, for example, with its elements and what you would say, would you be called a speaker? No, you would not be a speaker until the sound comes out of you. For this reason, when Allah the Exalted intended to mention the speech in the Self, He qualified it, saying
and say among themselves, "Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?" ويقولون في أنفسهم لولا يعذبنا الله بما نقول
[Al-Mujadila 58:8]
so He qualified it with the Self.
