Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... is attributed to the one from whom it occurred or in whom it subsisted, or not? This is the principle. So if I say "so-and-so stood up," the principle is that the one who stood is so-and-so, from whom the standing occurred. And if I say "so-and-so died," the principle is that he is the one who died. And for this reason, look, we said it is attributed to the one from whom it occurred, like "stood up," or in whom it subsisted, like "died," for it is not said that death occurred from him, but rather that it subsisted in him and he was characterized by death. This is the principle in the Arabic language. So if it is directed to another, that is a distortion that contradicts the principle.
