The Shaykh : All right, the author (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "Chapter Eighteen: On the Speech of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He".
This topic is one of the greatest causes of trial among Muslims, or more accurately: between the Salaf and the imams and the people of innovation, regarding the speech of Allah, the Exalted. For the speech of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the pivot upon which the entire Shari'ah turns, for the speech of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the revelation He sent down to the messengers, and the revelation He sent down to the messengers is the entire religion.
Regarding the speech of Allah, it says: "The people of the Sunnah and the community agreed that Allah speaks, and that His speech is a true attribute established for Him in the manner befitting Him".
This is what the people of the Sunnah agreed upon, and everyone who wrote on this chapter has transmitted their agreement on it.
"And He, Glorified and Exalted is He, speaks with letters and sound, however He wills, whenever He wills".
But know that the voice of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, does not resemble the voices of the created beings at all. However, the letters with which He speaks are the same letters with which people speak. As for the voice, it does not resemble the voices of the created beings at all, neither in its strength nor in its form nor in anything related to it; nothing is like it. The evidence that it does not resemble the voices of the created beings is His saying, the Exalted:[Ash-Shuraa 42:11].
And His saying: "speaks however He wills". As for this manner, we do not know how Allah speaks, but we know that He speaks. These skins will speak on the Day of Resurrection, and the earth will relate its news. Do we know how they speak, or do we not know? We do not know, and we do not know how the earth relates its news.
And on this basis, we say: The manner of the speech of Allah is not known.
