Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"The relational attributes: those by which Allah is not described as having an attribute that is established for Him, but rather He is described by them in consideration of their relation to others, as they say of Allah the Exalted: ' He is the Origin and the Cause. He is the Origin and the Cause in consideration of the fact that things originated from Him, not in consideration of an attribute established for Him which is being an origin and being a cause."
First, these people, this is their example. They say: Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Origin and the Cause. For this reason, they call Him the Active Cause and the Origin of the universes and things.
What is the meaning of the Origin and the Cause? Does it mean that being an origin and being a cause are established for Him? No, even with this false designation, they do not make it an attribute of establishment.
They say: its meaning is that things originated from Him, so He is in relation to others. And likewise, regarding what you have of creation, they say: Allah the Exalted has the attribute of creation, but not in the sense that He is characterized by it, but in the sense that He has what? A created being.
