Explanation of the author's statement: "Chapter Twenty-Six on Islam and Faith: Islam linguistically means submission.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then the author said: "Chapter Twenty-Six: On Islam and Faith".
This chapter is one in which people have engaged in the most discussion, concerning whether Islam is faith, and faith is Islam, or whether there is a difference between them? This chapter is to clarify this ruling.
He said: "Islam linguistically means submission. And legally, it is the slave's submission to Allah the Exalted, outwardly and inwardly, by doing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions, encompassing the entire religion".
Islam in the language means submission, meaning, yes, such as His saying, the Exalted:
Yes [on the contrary], whoever submits his face in Islam to Allah while being a doer of good
[Al-Baqarah 2:112]
And such as His saying:
And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,
[As-Saffat 37:103]
"Aslama" means: they submitted and surrendered.
But in the Shari'ah, it is the slave's submission to Allah, outwardly and inwardly, by doing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions.
Outwardly, such as: words and actions of the limbs. Inwardly: such as words of the heart and actions of the heart.
So submission to Allah, outwardly and inwardly, this is Islam, and on this basis, it encompasses the entire religion. Allah the Exalted said:
and have approved for you Islam as religion
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
, and He said, the Exalted:
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
And He said, the Exalted:
And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him
[Ali 'Imran 3:85]
.
What is meant by Islam in these verses? The entire religion, which is submission to Allah, outwardly and inwardly, by doing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions.
