The Reality of Islam

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 1988 )
Q1: What is the reality of Islam?
A1 : The reality of Islam is found in the answer of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to Jibril (peace be upon him) when he asked him about Islam. He said:Sahih Muslim 8a . Included in this is faith in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and the divine decree, its good and its evil. Also included in this is ihsan (excellence in worship), which is: to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then He sees you. This is because when Islam is mentioned in a general sense, it encompasses these matters; as Allah the Exalted said: [Ali 'Imran 3:19] . And the hadith of Jibril, when he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Islam, faith, and ihsan, he answered with what was mentioned, and he informed (peace and blessings be upon him) that Jibril asked about these matters to teach people their religion. It is not hidden that this indicates that the religion of Islam is submission to the commands of Allah outwardly and inwardly, and leaving what He has forbidden outwardly and inwardly. This is the complete Islam. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

A1 : The reality of Islam is found in the answer of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to Jibril (peace be upon him) when he asked him about Islam. He said:
Al-Islam implies that you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and you establish prayer, pay Zakat, observe the fast of Ramadan, and perform pilgrimage to the (House) if you are solvent enough (to bear the expense of) the journey.
الإِسلام: أن تشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله وأن محمدًا رسول الله، وتقيم الصلاة، وتؤتي الزكاة، وتصوم رمضان، وتحج البيت إن استطعت إليه سبيلاًIndeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
