Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon His servant and messenger, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
As for what follows: Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his book *Iqtida' al-Sirat al-Mustaqim*: "And this is a trial that some groups of those who claim to be scholars may face, for sometimes they conceal knowledge out of jealousy of it, and out of dislike that others should attain the honor they have attained, and sometimes they seek compensation for it with leadership or wealth, fearing that its disclosure will diminish their leadership or reduce their wealth, and sometimes they have disagreed with others on an issue, or they have affiliated with a group that has been contradicted on an issue, so they conceal from the knowledge that which contains the argument for their opponent, even if they are not certain that their opponent is wrong".
