The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings and bestow grace upon His servant and our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
As for what follows: Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said in *Iqtida' al-Sirat al-Mustaqim*: "For the people disputed over the cause of the action of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, in what He did, so they sought to establish something by which they could justify His action, based on the implication of likening Him to the created things, so they fell into the extreme of misguidance; either by holding that His action was always obligatory upon Him, or that the actor is two; or that He does some things and the creation does some things; or that what He did, He did not command the opposite of, and what He commanded, He did not decree the opposite of. And that was when they contrasted His action with His command, until a group acknowledged the divine decree and denied the command, and a group acknowledged the command and denied the divine decree, when they all believed that their coexistence is impossible, and each of them is refuted".
The Shaykh : When, or until?
The reader: When.
The Shaykh : All the manuscripts? I have until.
The reader: He pointed to a manuscript with until.
The Shaykh : Not when, I think. Yes.
The reader: "When they all believed that their coexistence is impossible, and each of them is refuted by denying what the other affirmed, and this happens most often when the dispute occurs over the little thing before it is perfected and its margins are gathered".
The Shaykh : What? For the occurrence
The reader: "And this happens most often when the dispute occurs over the little thing before it is perfected"
The Shaykh : We have in the thing before it is perfected; the little one, it appears to be extra. Yes, "the thing before it is perfected".
The reader: "And this happens most often when the dispute occurs over the thing before it is perfected and its margins and ends are gathered. And for this reason he said:Sahih Ibn Hibban 3:14.
The purpose of mentioning these hadiths is to indicate from the hadith what is similar in the Qur'an, in the saying of Allah the Exalted:[At-Tawbah 9:69].
And among that is what al-Zuhri narrated from Sinan ibn Abi Sinan al-Du'ali from Abu Waqid al-Laythi that he said: ".
The Shaykh : They hang them, meaning they attach them. Yes.
It is called Dhat Anwat. So we passed by a lote tree and we said: O Messenger of Allah, make for us a Dhat Anwat as they have a Dhat Anwat? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allahu Akbar! Those are the ways of the former people. You said - by Him in whose hand is my soul - as the Children of Israel said to Moses: Make for us a god as they have gods. He said: You are a people who know not. The Shaykh : And this wording indicates that it is sunan, and that with the damma is closer, because al-sanan is a path, and sunan is the plural of sunnah.
