Reading from the author's words, with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "It also contains a note that being strict with oneself initially becomes a cause for further strictness, which Allah does: either through the Shari'ah or through divine decree. As for through the Shari'ah: it is like what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) feared in his time regarding an increase in obligation or prohibition, such as what he feared when they gathered to pray tarawih with him, and when they asked about things that had not been forbidden. And like: if a person vows an act of obedience, it becomes obligatory for him to perform it, while he is forbidden from the act of making the vow itself. And likewise, the expiations that become obligatory due to causes.

As for through divine decree: we have often seen and heard of people who were overly strict in matters, and they were also tested with causes that made matters stricter for them, in terms of obligation and prohibition"
.

The Shaykh : upon them by combining them.
The student: the matter is made stricter for him

The Shaykh : upon them?
The student: upon him

The Shaykh : Yes.
The reader: Correction, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : No, what is the need.
The reader: "they are also tested with causes that make matters stricter for them, in terms of obligation".

The Shaykh : with causes that make it stricter.
The reader: with causes

The Shaykh : with causes that make it stricter
The reader: "they are also tested with causes that make matters stricter for them, in terms of obligation and prohibition. For example, many of those who suffer from obsessive doubts regarding ritual purity, if they go beyond what is prescribed, they are tested with causes that make things genuinely obligatory upon them that are".

The Shaykh : burdensome things, burdensome things that make things genuinely obligatory.
The reader: make things genuinely obligatory upon them.

The Shaykh : burdensome and harmful things.
The reader: "For example, many of those who suffer from obsessive doubts regarding ritual purity, if they go beyond what is prescribed, they are tested with causes that make things genuinely obligatory upon them that are burdensome and harmful. And this meaning indicated by the hadith is in agreement with what we mentioned earlier regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them ويضع عنهم إصرهم والأغلال التي كانت عليهم
[Al-A'raf 7:157]
in that this implies the dislike of agreeing with them in burdens and shackles.
And the burdens: refer to the severe obligations.
And the shackles: are the severe prohibitions.
For the burden: is weight and severity, and this is the nature of what is obligatory.
And the shackle: prevents the one shackled from moving freely, and this is the nature of what is forbidden. And this is what His saying, the Exalted, indicated"
