The Shaykh : Then he said: "And from Abu Juhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ":
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:: Leaning is relying on something, and it is of two types:
Relying on the hand, and relying on the back.
Relying on the hand means either the right or the left, which necessitates that the body be tilted to one side. Relying on the back does not necessitate that, but it indicates that the person will rest completely while eating, and at that point he will fill his stomach. Filling the stomach with food is contrary to what is appropriate, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2380Sahih (Darussalam).
So these are two characteristics:
The first characteristic: Leaning on one of the hands.
And the second: Leaning on the back. There is a third characteristic according to Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) in *Zad al-Ma'ad*, which is sitting cross-legged (tawbiq). Tawbiq is like this. He says that this is a form of leaning, because it involves some comfort and tranquility that causes one to eat a lot. Eating a lot is contrary to the Sunnah, except in some cases. In some cases, there is nothing wrong with a person eating a lot.
I do not eat while leaning
لا آكل متكئاThe Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

Filling the stomach with food is contrary to what is appropriate, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat what will support his back. If this is not possible, then a third for food, a third for drink, and third for his breath.
