The Shaykh : He said: "From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and him): Bulugh al-Maram 8:99 It was narrated by the four, and this is the wording of al-Nasa'i, and its chain is valid":
Bulugh al-Maram 8:99: The qas'ah is the platter, and thareed is what the poet mentioned in his saying, or the composer in his verse:
"When bread is eaten with meat *** Then that is the thareed, the trust of Allah".
So thareed is bread eaten with meat. It may be thin, or it may be dry. If it is bread dipped in the sauce and eaten, it is dry thareed. If it is made into small pieces or thin, meaning cooked with the meat, then it is thin thareed. One of the poets says:
"A girl who has not eaten the thin *** And has not tasted the pistachio from the legumes":
Meaning that her condition is poor; she does not have wealth to eat the thin kind.
And his saying, "He said":: This includes two matters:
The first matter: the permissibility, the permissibility of eating from it.
And the second matter: that the eating should be from the sides, and each person eats from the side nearest to him.
Bulugh al-Maram 8:99 Its center means its top.
Bulugh al-Maram 8:99: Glory be to Allah, someone might say: This reasoning contradicts the ruling, because he said: Bulugh al-Maram 8:99 Then he said: Bulugh al-Maram 8:99 Meaning, if the blessing descends in the center, why not eat from the center in order to obtain the blessing?
We say: If the blessing descends in the center, then if you eat the center from the start of your eating, you have removed the blessing and it is gone. Therefore, the center remains standing and is eaten from the sides. If they are many, or if they are greedy with wide bellies and they consume the center and the sides, there is no harm. Or we say: Leave the center, do not eat from it at all? Huh?
He eats, even if he eats the center, but the center should be the last.
The student: Shaykh!
The Shaykh : Yes?
The student: What type of address is the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) address to the boy?
The Shaykh : Yes?
The student: The Prophet's address to the boy?
The Shaykh : We have not taken the benefits yet; we have not taken the benefits.
The Prophet (ﷺ) was brought a dish containing Tharid and said, "Eat from its side and not from the middle, for the blessing descends in the middle of it."
