He says that he and his classmates are complaining to you about our teacher, who enters our classroom and says to us, “Peace be upon the monkeys,” and when we object to him, he comes to us with the story of Freud and says, “This is your origin and my origin, and there is no escape for us from this origin,” knowing that our teacher displays arrogance, long clothing, long hair, and long nails. What is our position regarding this teacher? May Allah guide you. Knowing that he did not mention his country or village or anything of that sort?

The questioner : This letter also relates to the previous letter sent by the student Sa'd Sa'ud S. In fact, the letter is very long, but perhaps summarizing it would be more beneficial.

The Shaykh : We say that this man’s admission against himself that he is one of the monkeys is accepted, but his claim against others that they are monkeys is rejected. It has already been explained recently that believing that the origin of human beings is the monkey is disbelief in Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because it is a denial of the Noble Qur'an and of what the Muslims have agreed upon, and even of what people today have agreed upon. It has become clear that this theory is a defective and invalid theory, and that it has no truth. As for this teacher remaining a teacher in this school, it is not permissible to approve him as a teacher. It is obligatory for the school principal to report him to those above him so that he is removed and dismissed from the field of teaching. He must also be monitored outside of the school.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : So that he does not mislead people. If he rectifies himself and stands upon the truth, that is what is required, and it is from the mercy of Allah toward him and toward people. Otherwise, it is obligatory that what prevents his corruption be carried out against him, even if it is by killing.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : So, is it permissible to kill him in this case?

The Shaykh : If his harm cannot be repelled except by that, and this is a great harm because it is a denial of the Noble Qur'an. If it cannot be repelled except by this, and this man becomes a caller to this atheism and disbelief, then it is obligatory to kill him, because he is an apostate, and it is obligatory to kill an apostate.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
