Benefits of the Hadith (That he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taking water for his ears . . . ).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among the benefits of this hadith: that he wipes his ears with what remains from the head. This is according to the narration of whom?
According to the narration of Muslim.
And among its benefits: that he takes fresh water for each limb, as he said:
other than the leftover from his hands غير فضل يديه
.
But suppose he did not take fresh water, is the wudu' valid or not? That is, if a person washed his hands and moisture remained on them, and he wiped his head with them, is that sufficient or not?
We say: As for the opinion of the one who holds that used water in an obligatory purification remains pure but not purifying, then it is not valid for him to wipe his head with the leftover water after washing his hands, because this leftover water is used in an obligatory purification, so it becomes pure but not purifying.
And as for the second opinion: that there is no category of "pure but not purifying," then if moisture remains, and the head is moistened by it, there is no harm, because the intention is to wipe the head, and that has been achieved.
