Benefits of the Hadith: (The entire earth is a mosque, except for the graveyard and the bathroom).

The Shaykh : Among the benefits of this hadith is that the entire earth is a mosque, a place for prayer, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not exclude anything in this hadith except two things: the graveyard and the bathroom. Accordingly, prayer is valid on rooftops, on carpets, on rocks, on sand, and on everything, for the entire earth is a mosque. Likewise, prayer is valid inside the Ka'bah, because the Ka'bah is part of the earth without doubt, so it is a mosque, a place for prayer: obligatory prayer and voluntary prayer. Among the benefits of this hadith is that the graveyard is not a place for prayer. If one prays in it, is it valid? The answer is: it is not valid, because the prohibition implies invalidity, and the negation of it being a place for prayer necessitates that prayer is not valid in it. From it is also the blocking of the means to shirk (associating partners with Allah), even if distant, because a person might pray in a mosque in the graveyard with the graves behind his back, far from them, and the possibility of shirk from this worshiper is remote, but blocking the means to shirk, even if distant, is obligatory. For this reason, it is forbidden to say: "What Allah willed and you willed," or to swear by other than Allah, and the like of this. All of this is to protect the aspect of tawhid (the oneness of Allah). Among the benefits of the hadith is that anything that falls under the name of a graveyard, even if outside the graves, is not a place for prayer. Did you understand? Even if the graves are behind the worshiper, it is not permissible for him to pray in the graveyard. And from it is that the apparent meaning of the hadith is that there is no difference between there being three graves in this place, or two, or one, as long as it is called a graveyard, then prayer in it is prohibited. As for the one who says: "It does not harm if there is one grave or two, because a graveyard is not a graveyard unless three or more are buried in it," this is a weak opinion. The correct view is that as long as this place is called a graveyard, prayer in it is not valid. If someone asks: "What if this place is prepared for a graveyard and it is called a graveyard, but no one has been buried in it?" The answer is: prayer in it is permissible, because it is not true to call it a graveyard now. Among the benefits of this hadith is the prohibition of prayer in the bathroom, due to his saying: Well, the latrine and the toilet are even more so, because they are more impure. Even if it were assumed that the toilet is large and a part of it is pure, where urine or feces do not reach, prayer in it is not valid, because if prayer is not valid in the bathroom, then in this place it is even more so that it is not valid. Take with you now three places: the graveyard, the second: the bathroom, and the third: the toilet.
