Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Indeed, your God is One.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) stated that “dhikran” (recitation) is a verbal noun derived from the meaning of “al-taliyyat” (the reciters). Thus, the author (may Allah have mercy on him) parsed “dhikran” as a verbal noun derived from the meaning of “al-taliyyat.” We have derived from this a grammatical benefit: a verbal noun can be derived from the wording or from the meaning. If it is derived from the meaning, it is a semantic verbal noun; if it is derived from the wording, it is a lexical verbal noun. If you say “I sat down, sitting,” then “sitting” is a semantic verbal noun. If you say “I sat down, sitting,” then “sitting” is a lexical verbal noun.
the reciters, recitation التاليات ذكرا
The author says that the origin of “al-taliyyat” is “al-dhakirat” (the remembrancers) with “dhikran” (recitation). Thus, for the author, “al-taliyyat” means “al-dhakirat,” and “dhikran” is a verbal noun derived from their meaning. However, what appears to be the case is contrary to the author’s statement; rather, “dhikran” is the object of “al-taliyyat.” This is because “al-taliyyat” is an active participle that has met the conditions for being a transitive verb, as it is prefixed with the definite article “al.” Therefore, “dhikran” is the object of the verb. “Al-taliyyat” means those who recite the remembrance. The intended meaning of “remembrance” is the Qur’an. It is called “remembrance” because it is a remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and it is among the best types of remembrance. It is called “remembrance” because it reminds the person of his Lord. It is called “remembrance” because it reminds the person of the rulings of his Lord. It is called “remembrance” because it reminds the person of the blessings of his Lord. It is called “remembrance” for the one who acts upon it, in that it brings honor and elevation, as Allah the Exalted said:
And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people وإنه لذكر لك ولقومك
[Az-Zukhruf 43:44]
It is called “remembrance” because it admonishes its companion and reminds him, while he reminds him, as Allah the Exalted said:
[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded. كتاب أنزلناه إليك مبارك ليدبروا آياته وليتذكر أولوا الألباب
[Sad 38:29]
Thus, the Qur’an is a remembrance in these five aspects. Repeat them.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : For those who have passed away, and by the blessing of Allah. It is itself, it is itself a remembrance of Allah, among the best types of remembrance.
