Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (It is nothing but a reminder for all the worlds)]
His saying, the Exalted: [At-Takwir: 27] : (Inna) here means: (ma) , and this is a rule; that when (illa) comes after (inna) it means (ma) , i.e., that it becomes a negation; because (inna) comes as a negation, comes as a conditional, and comes as a lightened form of the heavy one, and what clarifies these meanings is the context, so when (inna) comes and after it (illa) it is a negation,Meaning: what it is, and it is the Qur'an that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came with, and Gabriel brought it down upon his heart [At-Takwir: 27] , so (dhikr) includes reminding and remembering; so it is a reminder for the worlds, and a remembering for them,Meaning: that they remember by it and take admonition by it,And the intended meaning of the worlds: to whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was sent, as Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Anbiya: 107] .
And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Furqan: 1] .
So the intended meaning of the worlds here: to whom Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was sent.
His saying, the Exalted:
It is not except a reminder to the worlds.
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَnot except a reminder to the worlds.
إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَAnd We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَAnd Allah the Exalted said:
Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner -
تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ لِيَكُونَ لِلْعَالَمِينَ نَذِيراًSo the intended meaning of the worlds here: to whom Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was sent.
