The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: ((Then they will be partners in the punishment on that Day. Indeed, We do thus to the criminals.))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The benefits: Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. فإنهم يومئذ في العذاب مشتركون
[As-Saffat 37:33]
The following is derived from this verse and what follows it:
First, that the followers and the followed are all partners in the punishment, as He said:
So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. فإنهم يومئذ في العذاب مشتركون
[As-Saffat 37:33]
The benefit of this is that neither the followers nor the followed will be saved. If someone asks, "Does partnership imply equality?" the answer is no; rather, each has degrees according to what they did.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the humiliation of these followed ones who used to be arrogant over creation in this world, because He gathered them with those they used to enslave in this world:
So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. فإنهم يومئذ في العذاب مشتركون
[As-Saffat 37:33]
This is because the Hereafter is a home of justice, and there is no superior status in it. A benefit of the verses is that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, did not wrong them with this punishment, as He said:
Indeed, We do thus to the criminals إنا كذلك نفعل بالمجرمين
They were not punished except for their crime.
Among its benefits is also that people are equal before Allah, so whoever deserves punishment or reward, it is for him, as He said:
Indeed, We do thus to the criminals إنا كذلك نفعل بالمجرمين
Meaning, We did not do this to these alone, but this ruling is comprehensive for every criminal. Likewise, it is said regarding reward that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, rewards every worker for his deed according to the attributes for which he deserves this reward.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the affirmation of the action of Allah the Mighty and Majestic, as He said:
Indeed, We do thus إنا كذلك نفعل
And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Doer of what He wills. Action necessitates renewal according to the thing acted upon. So the creation of the heavens and the earth by Allah was not eternal; rather, it was when He created the heavens and the earth. And the creation of the fetus by Allah in the womb of its mother was not eternal; rather, it is a new occurrence when this fetus came into being.
We move from this benefit to a benefit that branches from it, which is the affirmation of the voluntary actions of Allah, contrary to those who denied this and said that no voluntary action subsists in Allah. They explained this with a false cause, saying that voluntary action necessitates being a new occurrence, and a new occurrence does not subsist except in a new entity. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is eternal and everlasting. There is no doubt that this statement is false, for a new occurrence can be in a non-new entity, as in the actions of Allah. Did not Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, create the heavens and the earth and then rise above the Throne? So the rising occurred after the creation of the heavens and the earth. Did not Allah descend every night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains? So the descent occurred after the passage of two-thirds of the night, and yet Allah has always existed and continues to exist. Then, a person himself finds that actions from him are renewed with his prior knowledge of them. Is it not the case that a person's action today is not like his action yesterday, and he is prior to his actions? So new occurrences subsist in him with his prior knowledge of them. If this is permissible for the created, then it is even more so for the Creator, because it is a perfection.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the completeness of the dominion, power, and might of Allah the Mighty and Majestic. The indication of this is that these criminals are known for arrogance, pride, and haughtiness, as in the case of Pharaoh and others of the elite. And yet, Allah is the Subduer; He punishes them and does with them what He wills, as His wisdom necessitates.
