Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: Allah the Exalted said: “Then they will be, on that Day, sharing in the punishment,” meaning sharing in the punishment because of their shared misguidance.

This is from the words of Allah meaning the followers and those followed on the Day of Resurrection meaning because of their shared misguidance. This means that these people share in the punishment, each being punished according to the measure of his sin. Your Lord does not wrong anyone, and it is not possible for the followers to be free from the burden, nor for those followed to be free from the burden. This is because these people submitted to misguidance by their own choice, and these people deceived them and led them astray. So each one has from the punishment what he deserves, even though they share in its origin.
