The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: ((So he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? What is the matter with you that you do not speak? So he dealt with them a blow with the right hand.))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Among the benefits of His saying
Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? فراغ إلى آلهتهم قال ألا تأكلون ...
[As-Saffat 37:91]
to the end of the verse is the clarification of the strength of Ibrahim, as mentioned previously, where he went to these gods swiftly and secretly to break them. However, he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not break them until he had established the proof against those who were with them, showing that these gods are not fit to be gods because they do not reason, they do not speak, they do not know what benefits them, and they do not bring benefit to themselves, let alone to others. For this reason, he said:
and said, "Do you not eat? (92) What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" فقال ألا تأكلون ما لكم لا تنطقون
[As-Saffat 37:91-92]

Among the benefits of this noble verse is also the permissibility of *tawriyah* (euphemism or indirect speech), as mentioned previously, because he (peace and blessings be upon him) knew that the idols do not eat and do not speak. However, he intended by this question to establish the argument against those who were with them, guarding them and defending them, because these idols are not fit for worship since they do not know what benefits or harms them, nor do they bring benefit to themselves or ward off harm from themselves. Among the benefits of His saying
And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. فراغ عليهم ضربا باليمين
[As-Saffat 37:93]
is also the clarification of the strength of Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
Among its benefits is also that a person should be serious and resolute when he performs a deed, doing it with strength, without hesitation or laziness.
