Continuation of the Benefits: ((... In Your hand is good; You are over all things competent))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And among the benefits of this noble verse is: sufficing with praise in place of supplication. For if you reflect on this verse, you will find no supplication in it, meaning no request. However, praise is a means by which one seeks nearness to Allah. It has passed us by that supplication is sometimes made by mentioning the state of the supplicant, sometimes by praise, sometimes by both, and sometimes by the request alone. All of this has come in the Sunnah. Here, the praise includes what these phrases indicate. So if you say, "You are the One who honors, and You are the One who humbles," the meaning of this, or the implication of this, is that you are asking Allah to honor you and not humble you. For this reason, the poet said:
If a man praises you one day, his praise suffices for his approach
That is, his praise of you suffices for his approach and his request.
