Continuation of the Benefits of the Verse

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Allah the Exalted said:
that she would be of the believers. لتكون من المؤمنين
[Al-Qasas 28:10]
Those who believe in the promise of Allah. It is not permissible for us to interpret faith as mere affirmation; rather, we should make it broader than that, meaning a firm affirmation that remains steadfast regarding what is required of it. The answer to the conditional particle "lawla" (if not) is indicated by what came before it. So where is the "lawla"?
had We not bound fast her heart لولا أن ربطنا على قلبها
[Al-Qasas 28:10]
And its implied meaning is "she would have displayed it." For this reason, the author stated that what came before it indicated the answer, and he did not say that what came before it *was* the answer, but rather that it indicated it. Leave it to yourselves, everyone. We have previously discussed whether an expression like this requires an answer or not, and we mentioned that some scholars said it requires an answer. However, if you supplied the answer, the speech would be awkward. If you provided the answer, the speech would be awkward. Therefore, it does not require an answer. "Honor the student if he is diligent." Therefore, this does not require an answer, because if you answered: "Honor the student if he is diligent, so honor him," this would be unsound speech; this is awkward speech. And this meaning that we mentioned was pointed to by Ibn al-Qayyim in his book *Al-Tabyan fi Aqsam al-Qur'an*.
