What is the ruling on one who combines his money with an orphan’s money and then incurs a loss in that trade? Does he have to guarantee the orphan’s money?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on one who combines his money with an orphan’s money and then incurs a loss in that trade? Does he have to guarantee the orphan’s money?

The Shaykh : We say that as long as when he did it, he believed that this was the most beneficial option, but the circumstances turned out differently, he owes nothing. He is not sinful and does not have to guarantee the loss, because Allah says:
So fear Allah as much as you are able فاتقوا الله ما استطعتم
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
This is a general principle: every person has authority over his own transactions... let alone when circumstances turn out against his will, contrary to what he expected.
