Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (an orphan who is a close relative)

Allah the Exalted said:
(15) An orphan of near relationship (16) Or a needy person in miseryيَتِيماً ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ * أَوْ مِسْكِيناً ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ
[al-Balad: 15-16] An orphan is one whose father died before he reached puberty, whether male or female. If he reaches puberty, he is no longer considered an orphan, because he has reached maturity and become independent. Likewise, if his mother dies, he is not considered an orphan, contrary to the belief of some laypeople that an orphan is one whose mother has died. This is not correct. An orphan is one whose father has died, because if his father dies, he has no one among creation to earn a livelihood for him.And his statement: (who is a close relative) means: one who is a relative of the person. Because if he is an orphan, he has a share of honor and charity. And if he is a relative, his share of that increases, because he is one with whom maintaining family ties is obligatory. So whoever combines these two descriptions: Orphanhood and kinship: providing for him is part of crossing the difficult path, if that is in a day of hardship.
