The questioner : His other question asks: What is the ruling on the beard in Islam? We ask of your eminence for the hadiths, or some of the hadiths, that have been reported on this matter and command [it], and what should we do, given that every bearded man in society is now looked at with a strange gaze by people and is also sometimes persecuted? And so that a person does not fall into shaving it, as many young men do who let it grow, we ask for the way, may Allah guide you?

The Shaykh : The beard in Islam is part of the guidance of the messengers (peace be upon them). Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a great beard. And Allah the Exalted said regarding Musa and Harun: Harun said to Musa:
O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head يَبْنَؤُمَّ لا تَأْخُذْ بِلِحْيَتِي وَلا بِرَأْسِي
[Taha 20:94]
So it is part of the guidance of the messengers, and it is also among the sunnahs of fitrah, as established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Ten things of the fitrah عشر من الفطرة
and he mentioned among them
the beard اللحية
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded letting it grow and hanging it down, and this indicates that shaving it is forbidden because it contradicts the fitrah and results in disobedience to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
As for the fact that the one who lets it grow and keeps it is looked at with surprise, disapproval, and contempt, this is a trial that a person is tested with regarding his religion: will he be patient with it, or will he consider other than Allah in it? And Allah the Exalted said:
(1) Alif, Lam, Meem (2) Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? (3) But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.
[Al-'Ankabut 29:1-3]
It is obligatory for the Muslim to be patient in obedience to Allah, in avoiding disobedience to Allah, and in enduring the harmful things that befall him in the cause of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He).
So my advice to the brother is to be patient and seek reward from Allah, and matters will be resolved, and the outcome will be for the righteous.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
