The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: << و لقد ءاتينا موسى الكتاب . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . >

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Torah is from Allah, as the Exalted said:
And We did certainly give Moses the Torah ولقد آتينا موسى الكتاب
[Al-Baqarah 2:87]
It is one of the three books whose effect remains, namely the Gospel and the Qur'an.
It is derived from this that the bestowal of the Torah occurred after the destruction of the previous nations, including Pharaoh. Some scholars deduced from His saying
after We had destroyed the former generations من بعد ما أهلكنا القرون الأولى
[Al-Qasas 28:43]
that no nation has been destroyed in general since the revelation of the Torah, because He said:
after We destroyed the generationsمِن بعد ما أهلكنا القرون
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 25:664
It appears that since the revelation of the Torah, no one from the generations has been destroyed. This deduction is not far-fetched, as reality confirms it.

The Shaykh : It is also derived from this verse that the books revealed from the sky are lights for people by which they find guidance, as He said:
insights for people بصائر للناس
.
Among the benefits of the verse is also that holding fast to the laws of Allah brings mercy, as He said:
and guidance and mercy وهدى ورحمة
.
Among its benefits is also that the books revealed from the sky are those by which there is guidance from misguidance, as He said:
and guidance وهدى
.
Among its benefits is also that the wisdom behind the revelation of these books is for people to remember the admonitions contained in them, as He said:
That they might remember لعلهم يتذكرون
.
Among its benefits is also the affirmation of wisdom in the actions of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and in His laws, because
Perhapsلعل
means providing a reason. From this, the affirmation of wisdom in the actions and laws of Allah is derived. Who denies wisdom? The Jahmiyyah say: "Allah the Exalted has no wisdom in what He does and what He wills; it is merely by His will." And with that, the verse ends.
