Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "The third aspect: that if one permits doing a little of it, it leads to doing a lot.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "The third aspect: that if one permits doing a little of it, it leads to doing a lot. Then, when a thing becomes widespread, the common people enter into it and forget its origin until it becomes a custom for people, or even a festival, until it rivals the festivals of Allah, or even exceeds them, until it nearly, nearly, nearly leads to the death of"

The Shaykh : ...
The Reader: Yes.

The Shaykh : nearly leads to
The reader: without "that"

The Shaykh : Yes, the more eloquent is without "that"
but they could hardly do it. وما كادوا يفعلون
[Al-Baqarah 2:71]

The reader: "nearly leads to the death of Islam and the life of disbelief. As Satan has made it easy for many who claim Islam in what they do at the end of the Christians' fast, such as gifts, celebrations, expenses, clothing for the children, and other things, which make it like the Muslims' festival. Indeed, in the countries bordering the Christians, where the knowledge and faith of their people are little, this has become more prominent and more beautiful in their hearts than the festival of Allah and His Messenger, as the trustworthy ones have informed me. As for what I saw in Damascus and its surroundings in the land of Sham, although it is closer to knowledge and faith, this Thursday that occurs at the end of the Christians' fast moves with the movement of their fast, which is seven weeks. And their fast, although it is in the early part of the season that the Arabs call summer and the common people call spring, it advances and recedes; it does not have a single limit in the solar year, it does not have a single limit in the solar year, like the Thursday that is in the beginning of Nisan. Rather, it moves in about thirty-three days; its beginning does not advance before the second of Shubat, nor does it recede after the eighth of Adhar. Rather, they begin with the Monday that is closest to the conjunction of the sun and moon in this period, to observe, as they claim, the solar and lunar timing. All of this is innovations they introduced by their agreement, by which they contradicted the Shari'ah that the Prophets brought, for the Prophets did not time acts of worship except by the crescent moon. And the Jews and Christians distorted the Shari'ahs in a distortion that is not the place to mention here. Following this Thursday is the Friday that they made to correspond to the Friday on which they falsely claim the Messiah was crucified; they call it the Friday of the Crucifixion. Following it is the night of Saturday, which they claim the Messiah was in the grave on; and I think they call it the Night of Light and the Saturday of Light. And they fabricate a trick that they spread among their common people due to the prevalence of misguidance over them, making them believe"

The Shaykh : says due to the prevalence of misguidance
The reader: "due to the prevalence of misguidance over them, making them believe that light descends from the sky in the Church of the Sepulcher in Bayt al-Maqdis, so that they carry what is lit of that light to their lands seeking blessing from it. And every person of intellect knows that it is manufactured and contrived. Then on Saturday they seek out the Jews, and on Sunday is their great festival, which they claim the Messiah rose on. Then the Sunday following this they call the New Sunday"

The Shaykh : the Sunday
The reader: "they call it the New Sunday; they wear their new clothes in it and do things in it. All these days are festivals for them, just as the Day of 'Arafah, the Day of Sacrifice, and the days of Mina are our festival, O people of Islam"

The Shaykh : the people of
The reader: "O people of Islam. And they fast from fats. Then at the beginning of their breaking of the fast, they break it, or some of them, with what comes out of animals, such as milk, eggs, and meat, and perhaps their first breaking of the fast is with eggs. And they do in their festivals and other matters of their religion words and deeds that are not regulated. For this reason, you find that the scholars' transmissions of their doctrines and Shari'ahs differ, and most of it is correct
This is because these people claim that what the leaders of their religion, the scribes and the monks, have established as religion has become binding upon them and has become a law legislated by Christ in the heavens. So in every period, they abrogate some things and legislate others, including obligations and prohibitions.

The Shaykh : We did not hide anything from the research in this matter.
The reader: Yes. "Thus, in every period, they abrogate certain things and legislate others, including obligations"

The Shaykh : No, we did not hide anything while researching it.
The reader: Yes. "Thus, in every period"

The Shaykh : Look at the verse from the Qur'an, let it be.
Do not ask about لا تسألوا عن

The reader: Things.

The Shaykh :
Things أشياء
Yes.
The student: ... the Church of the Resurrection.

The Shaykh : Yes
The student: ... the Church of the Resurrection.

The Shaykh : Yes, and the garbage is all the same.
The reader: "So in every period, they abrogate some things and legislate others, including obligations, prohibitions, and the formulation of beliefs, and other things, contrary to what they were upon before, claiming that this is like Allah abrogating one law with another. They and the Jews are at opposite extremes in this matter and others; the Jews..."

The Shaykh : From the obligations, and what else?
The reader: And prohibitions, and prohibitions, and the formulation of beliefs.

The Shaykh : Fine, yes, and the formulation of beliefs.
The reader: "And the formulation of beliefs and other things, contrary to what they were upon before, claiming that this is like Allah abrogating a law with another law. In this regard and others, they and the Jews are at opposite extremes. The Jews deny that Allah abrogates laws or sends a messenger with a law that contradicts what came before, as Allah informed us about them in His saying.
The foolish among the people will say, "What has turned them away from their qiblah, which they used to face?" سيقول السفهاء من الناس ما ولاهم عن قبلتهم التي كانوا عليها
[Al-Baqarah 2:142]
And the Christians permit their rabbis and monks to legislate laws and abrogate them. Therefore, there is no stable law for the Christians that can be described as continuous through the ages. Our purpose does not depend on knowing the details of their falsehood, but it suffices for us to know the evil in a way that distinguishes it from the permissible, the good, the recommended, and the obligatory, so that we can avoid it and shun it with this knowledge."

The Shaykh : Knowledge, with this knowledge.
The reader: "So that we can avoid it and shun it with this knowledge, just as we know the other forbidden things, since it is obligatory for us to leave them. Whoever does not know the evil in general or in detail cannot intend to avoid it; he cannot intend to avoid it. General knowledge is sufficient, unlike obligations, for since the purpose is to perform them, and performance is not possible except in detail, it is obligatory to know them in detail."

The Shaykh : Yes, a question came in, yes.
