The reader: "Chapter: It has been mentioned previously that 'Eid' can be a name for the place itself, for the time itself, and for the gathering itself. These three have given rise to certain innovations
As for the time, there are three types, and some of the innovations regarding the 'Eid of the place and the actions fall under them
The first is a day that the Shari'ah has never honored, which had no mention among the Salaf, and in which nothing occurred that would necessitate honoring it, such as the first Thursday of Rajab, and the night of that Friday which is called al-Ragha'ib. The honoring of this day and night only occurred in Islam after the fourth century, and a fabricated hadith was narrated regarding it, as agreed upon by the scholars, the content of which is: the virtue of fasting on that day and performing this prayer"

The Shaykh : and performing
The reader: "the content of which is: the virtue of fasting on that day and performing this prayer, which the ignorant call the Prayer of al-Ragha'ib. Some of the later scholars, from among the companions and others, have mentioned this. The correct position, held by the meticulous scholars of knowledge, is the prohibition of singling out this day for fasting, and of this innovated prayer, and of everything that involves honoring this day, such as preparing foods, displaying adornment, and the like, until this day is in the same position as other days, and until it has no distinction at all
Likewise, another day in the middle of Rajab, in which a prayer is performed called the Prayer of Umm Dawud, for the honoring of this day has no basis in the Shari'ah at all
The second type is that in which an event occurred, as occurred in other days, without that necessitating making it a season, and the Salaf did not honor it, such as the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon"

The Shaykh : Repeat, repeat.
The reader: "The second type is that in which an event occurred, as occurred in other days, without that necessitating making it a season, and the Salaf did not honor it, such as the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah"

The Shaykh : The eighteenth, the eighteenth
The reader: Listen: "such as the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon at Ghadir Khum"

The Shaykh : Khum
The reader: "at Ghadir Khum on his return from the Farewell Pilgrimage, for he (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon in it"

The Shaykh : It is the correct form in the composition if the Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on him) had said "the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah." Perhaps this is an error by the scribes, because the one reading with this composition says "the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah." Perhaps we will make it "of" or, if Allah wills,
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Ah?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : We will not write it as a correction of "of Dhu al-Hijjah"
The reader: "for he (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon in which he advised following the Book of Allah, and he advised regarding his household, as Muslim narrated in his Sahih from Zayd ibn Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him). Some of the people of desires added to this until they claimed that he entrusted Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) with the caliphate by clear text, after spreading a carpet for him and seating him on a high bed, and they mentioned words and actions of which it is known with necessity that none of it occurred, and they claimed that the Companions conspired to conceal this text, and usurped the right of the successor, and committed open sinfulness and disbelief"

The Shaykh : and committed open sinfulness and committed open sinfulness, yes
The reader: "and committed open sinfulness and disbelief, except for a few, and the custom"
The student: "and committed open sinfulness" or "and disbelief"?

The Shaykh : Ah?
The student: "and committed open sinfulness" or "and disbelief"?

The Shaykh : I do not have it; it is "and committed open sinfulness and disbelief." It does not have "or" in it. Do you have two thousand?
The reader: And the custom which

The Shaykh : Leave it as a copy
