The reader: "It has been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said And I have referred to this meaning in what came before, and I explained that the Shari'ah is the nourishment of the hearts, so whenever the hearts are nourished by innovations, there remains no room in them for the Sunnah, and they become like one who is nourished by foul food
Most of the rulers only introduced types of unjust policies, such as taking wealth that is not permissible to take, and imposing punishments for crimes that are not permissible, because they neglected the prescribed enjoining of good and forbidding of evil. Otherwise, if they had collected what is permissible to collect and placed it where it is permissible to place it, seeking thereby the establishment of the religion of Allah rather than the leadership of their own selves, and if they had established the prescribed hudud (fixed punishments) upon the noble and the lowly, the near and the far, striving in their encouragement and deterrence for the justice that Allah has prescribed, they would not have needed the imposed taxes, nor the unjust punishments, nor those who protect them from slaves and the enslaved, as were the Rightly Guided Caliphs, 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, and others of the rulers of some regions."
The Shaykh : 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to sleep in the mosque alone without a guard, and yet Allah protected him, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said So whoever establishes the law of Allah is protected without doubt, even if it were to happen that he is attacked and killed, he is killed as a martyr, because he was not killed except for being a struggler in the religion of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. For this reason, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab was among the martyrs. And he used to supplicate, (may Allah be pleased with him), saying: "O Allah, I ask You for martyrdom in Your cause and death in the land of Your Messenger" So the people used to say, how can this be, when Madinah has become a land of safety and stability? So Allah sent to him this wicked one who killed him unjustly, because he was upholding the religion of Allah and being just among the servants of Allah. Yes... Yes.
Whenever a people introduce a religious innovation, Allah removes from them a corresponding amount of the Sunnah
