The reader: "It was also narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to the cemetery and said:
Peace be upon you, inhabitants of the dwellings who are of the community of the believers. If Allah wills we shall join you. السلام عليكم دار قوم مؤمنين، وإنا إن شاء الله بكم لاحقون
Sunan Abi Dawud 3237Sahih (Al-Albani)
. And it was also narrated from 'A'ishah in a long hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
He (Gabriel) said: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the inhabitants of Baqi' (to those lying in the graves) and beg pardon for them. I said: Messenger of Allah, how should I pray for them (How should I beg forgiveness for them)? He said: Say, Peace be upon the inhabitants of this city (graveyard) from among the Believers and the Muslims, and may Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come later on, and we shall, God willing, join you.
Sahih Muslim 974b
"

The Shaykh : I have
Al-lahiqun للاحقون
, a copy?
The reader: No

The Shaykh : Put it as a copy.
The reader: Yes, yes, Shaykh, in D and T: "al-lahiqun."

The Shaykh : Al-lahiqun, okay.
The reader: "And Ibn Majah narrated from 'A'ishah"

The Shaykh : There is a problem in this hadith, which is that 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
How should I say it, O Messenger of Allah? He said: Say: Peace be upon the inhabitants of these abodes كيف أقول يا رسول الله قال : قولي السلام على أهل الديار
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 11:218
The apparent meaning of this is permission for her to visit the cemetery, but there are hadiths in which the cursing of women who visit graves is mentioned, and these are good, sound hadiths. It is not appropriate for us to follow the method of reconciliation by saying: this is a narration in Muslim and that one is in other than the two Sahihs. Rather, we should follow the method of combining them, and say: the one who goes out of her house to visit the cemetery, this is forbidden for her, and she falls under the curse. And the one who passes by the cemetery without intending to go out to it, she says what the men say, as in the hadith of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
The reader: "And Ibn Majah narrated from 'A'ishah that she said:
I missed him, and then I found him at al-Baqi', and he said: Peace be upon you, abode of a people of believers, you are our forerunners, and we will be joining you. O Allah, do not deprive us of their reward, and do not test us after themفقدته فإذا هو بالبقيع، فقال : السلام عليكم دار قوم مؤمنين، أنتم لنا فرط، ونحن بكم لاحقون، اللهم لا تحرمنا أجرهم، ولا تفتنا بعدهم
