What is your response to those who say that the benefit from graves has been established by sensory experience, just as the benefit from medicines has been established by sensory experience and not by text?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah reward you, the people of innovation have a doubt regarding supplication to graves and the like. They say: These are means whose benefit has been witnessed by sensory experience, and they mention many stories about some people who supplicated to them. They say that even if this is a means that has not been mentioned in the texts, it is a means whose benefit has been witnessed by sensory experience, just as sensory experience has witnessed the treatment of the sick or the treatment of sorcery... that it is a means that the Shari'ah did not bring, but it has been established by sensory experience?

The Shaykh : This is what has been established by sensory experience. Has it been established that the person in the grave is the one who provided the benefit? No, it has not. But the fact that... or other medicines are beneficial is that the same medicine has been tested. However, Allah the Exalted may test a person with a trial, and the sin may have an effect according to his belief, as a test from Allah Mighty and Majestic. In that case, the response or the benefit occurred at the time of the act, not because of the act itself. It must be known that there is a difference between something happening by means of a thing and something happening at the time of a thing.
